This online workshop takes place on Sunday, June 27th, 11 AM - 1 PM PST via Zoom Meeting. You will receive login directions before the workshop.
Create stunning monoprints with leaves and found objects. Learn experimental techniques with this fun medium, such as inking with masked objects and making ghost prints.
Each person will create a unique set of greeting cards. Afterward, we’ll learn basic bookmaking techniques and use one or two of the printed cards to be covers of sewn booklets. They make great keepsakes or gifts! Adults/teens—all levels welcome.
Choose from two booking options:
1. Supply Your Own Materials! For this class, you will need a 4 x 5” gel plate (can cut 5x7” size down to size), a Brayer, Acrylic inks (a least 3 colors recommended), 12 qty blank cards and matching envelopes, natural white (A2 Size: 4-¼ x 5½“ folded cards), 10 sheets: 5½”(h) x 8½”(w) text-weight paper, large eye needle, and at least 25” of embroidery floss.

About the instructor:
Elaine G. Chu has taught students of all ages in-person and online. Her work has been featured In “Greencraft” and “Somerset Studio” magazines as well as “1000 Artists’ Books.” She co-authored “Wood Paper Scissors,” a how-to crafts book. Elaine received a B.A. in music at Yale University and a B.F.A. in graphic design at the University of the Arts.
