Online Workshop: Air-Dry Clay Cactus Jar

5 items left

This online workshop takes place on XXXX, 5 PM - 7 PM PST via Zoom Meeting. You will receive login directions before the workshop.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make a fun clay cactus jar to store all kinds of goodies. We will cover the basic techniques of how to use the pinch, coil, and sculpting methods of working with clay so you can continue working with the medium after the class.

You will leave the class with a cactus jar to add some fun playful energy to your home. Due to the nature of air-dry clay, the clay needs time to dry before decoration. Therefore your instructor will demonstrate the painting technique, and provide you with a takeaway handout to help support you in the process after the class.

This is a great introduction to clay without all the fuss of figuring out how to fire your work in a kiln.

Choose from two booking options:

1. Supply your own materials! You will need a 5lb block of air-dry clay, a wire tool (something to cut your clay with), 1-3 candlesticks, and acrylic paint for decorating your piece (optional) for this workshop.

2. Purchase a clay kit from us that includes:

  • 2lb block of air-dry clay
  • Scalpel as knife
  • Serrated rib tool
  • acrylic paint Set and brush

You will also need some scratch paper, a pencil to draw out ideas, a container for water, and a towel to keep your hands clean.
