Online Workshop 12/13: Needle-Felted Animal Ornaments
In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of felting while making a felted ornament! We will discover how to recognize and use different wool and felting needles and follow along to make a felted animal step-by-step. We will start by forming a basic egg shape using core fiber wool, then add wool roving in other colors to transform the egg form into an owl, seal, or something else! During the workshop, you will almost complete one entire animal but then have enough wool left to make one or two more, depending on the size. Participants will also have lots of opportunities to customize their creations by choosing different color combinations, expressions or gestures, or even choosing to make a different type of animal.
Choose from two booking options:
1. Supply your own materials! For this class, you will need a Needle felting multi-tool, 2 extra needles, a foam needle-felting block (4 x 6 x 2"), core fiber for making 2-3 animals, wool roving in gray, brown, yellow, white, black, and fawn, gold wire for hanging, glass glitter to decorate.
2. Purchase a kit from us that includes materials for 2- 3 ornaments:
Needle felting multi-tool
2 extra needles
Foam needle-felting block (4 x 6 x 2")
Core fiber for making 2-3 animals
Wool roving in gray, brown, yellow, white, black, and fawn
Gold wire for hanging

About the instructor: Faye Kendall is a fiber artist, designer, and educator living and working in California's Sonoma County.
This online workshop takes place on Sunday, December 13th, from 2 PM - 4 PM PST via Zoom Meeting. You will receive login directions before the workshop.
