Online Workshop 10/29: Watercolor Painting Leaves and Winter Greens

Join Sophie for an evening of painting leaves and wintery greens!  Suitable for beginners and intermediate level painters, this class will cover watercolor basics and a discussion of materials. Sophie will share tips and tricks to mastering watercolor paints and guide you through the process of creating a layered painting. By the end of the class,  everyone will complete a painting of colorful leaves on your new watercolor block.  

Choose from two booking options:

1. Supply your own materials! For this workshop, you will need a set of watercolors that includes at least one red, an orange, a yellow, a mustard/gold, a few shades of green, a brown and a white, watercolor paper (any size), some water, paper towels, and a watercolor paintbrush - size 4 round recommended.

2. Purchase a painting kit from us that includes:

  • 1 Watercolor brush size 4
  • 1 block of cold press watercolor paper size 6" x 8"
  • 1 set of 10 watercolors including Alizarin Crimson, Perinone Orange, New Gamboge, Quinacridone Deep Gold, Green Gold, Serpentine Genuine, Deep Sap Green, Goethite, Van Dyck Brown, and Titanium White.

This online workshop takes place on Thursday, October 29th  from 5 PM-7 PM PST via Zoom Meeting. You will receive login instructions prior to the workshop. 

About the Instructor:
Sophie Tivona grew up wandering in gardens around the Bay Area and dreaming of flowers, rocks, soil, and water. She was raised by her single mother who has been a professional gardener for her whole life. Sophie has always loved to create paper products and would find quiet spaces in the yard to make little treasures. She has followed a meandering path to find her way to a career in illustration and she is overjoyed to share her love of nature through painting. Watercolor is Sophie's muse and she loves its unpredictable, unforgiving qualities; it is her daily joy to harness the wildness of the medium and reveal its delicacy and strength.

**Shipping Notes** 

  • East Coast: If ordering a kit 5-6 days prior to the class, you need to select Priority Shipping to ensure your package arrives in time. The cutoff for delivery is 5 days prior to the event. 
  • West Coast: If ordering a kit 3 days prior to the class, you need to select Priority Shipping at checkout to ensure your package arrives in time.  Curbside Pickup only 2 or fewer days to class.
