Julia graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2010 with a BFA in printmaking. She stayed in Providence for a few years bartending, getting her pilot's license and opening a clothing store then moved to Paris.
When she returned in 2015 she started doing ceramics. The RISD holiday alumni sale in 2016 was the first time in her life that she made any kind of jewelry and it was just a few pieces made from ceramic beads. They sold out within the first hour of the show. The jewelry was fun and lugging all her platters, bowls and ceramic sculptures to the show really helped make the decision that jewelry was the way to go.
She built her business working from a spare bedroom and in 2018 moved to a beautiful studio space in Olneyville and hired her first employee. Currently, RA HA sells in 20+ stores and fairs across the country.
